Welcome to LS1 Tuning Guide

Over the years, fellow tuners have made files to help others setup tables in HP Tuners and they can be difficult to find. I have posted them here, on my site, and I will add more as they become available for you to use for free. You will find online spreadsheets to adjust your injector flow rate for the HP Tuners IFR table, a transmission tuning spreadsheet, and other useful help files. No Excel needed. The tuning guide here has easy to follow instructions and definitions of what you are doing and why you are doing it.

This is a 25 page manual that will guide you through the basics of using HP Tuners to get your LS1 based Gen III engine up and running. For working on a very modified engine, this will get your engine running but you will need to learn more to properly get your air/fuel and spark tables setup so you do not damage your engine. Your transmission is also going to take some tuning too. If you put in a shift kit or a new high stall torque converter you will need to do some work on that as well. I will be working on more manuals in the future. The transmission one will be next and later followed my a more indepth manual for tuning more heavily modified engines. I emphasis using a wideband O2 sensor in these manuals, if you choose not to use one, your results may not come out as well. Also, as with any mods or tuning, use all of this at your own risk. Backup up your tune and save often. Have fun and enjoy the satisfaction of tuning your own engine.
